A New Chapter, June 2025
For 35 years, Whatcom Love INC has mobilized churches to help those in need through relational ministry. We’re excited to announce a new chapter that will double our impact with no additional effort from our supporters!
Our Journey to Merger
Three years ago, We Care, a 50 year old thrift store ministry providing low and no cost items, joined Whatcom Love INC. Recognizing God’s clear blessing on We Care, the Love INC Board prayerfully decided to merge both organizations under the unified name “We Care of Whatcom County.” This natural progression strengthens our mission to follow Jesus and serve our community even more effectively.
What This Means for Our Community
We will continue to meet community needs:
- By building relationships with our neighbors in need and partnering with other organizations.
- By providing: clothing, furniture, household necessities, pantry items, groceries, and holiday toys.
- By mobilizing volunteers and partnering with churches.
- Expanding our hours: We Care is open five days a week, significantly shortening wait times for help, and making it easier for volunteers to participate.
Our Executive Director and Board remain the same. Donor dollars will now be used more efficiently. Your continued support is so appreciated. Please make checks payable to “We Care of Whatcom County” and mail them to PO Box 28194, Bellingham, WA 98227 or use our EasyTithe online giving portal at our new website, wecarewhatcom.org. You can find us in person at 1215 Commercial Street, Tuesday through Saturday.
We are excited about this merger and the increased capacity it brings to serve our community
